Ashé or Ase (pronounced Ah-shay) is a West African philosophical concept through which the Yoruba of Nigeria conceive the power to make things happen and produce change. In addition to its sacred characteristics, it also has important social ramifications. Ashé means POWER, COMMAND & AUTHORITY. The ability to make whatever one says happen. Often summarized as “It definitely shall be”.
Hi, I’m Darren Gulston, founder of Ashé Community Enrichment Center (or ACEC) and I believe that a healthy community is the cornerstone of a productive society. Our mission is to strengthen communities all across America by creating and implementing programs that not only utilize home-grown resources, but also focus on empowerment through co-op (community-opportunities) and educational forums. We strive to help communities grow and prosper through community involvement, expanded networking opportunities and strategic alliances. It is our goal to insure that each and every neighborhood gains access to vital rescources aimed at creating a better environment for current and future generations.
